series one of heroes (from nbc) i found was a breath of fresh air and had an exciting storyline with some nice ideas, effects and characters that you got excited about - it was the right mix of characters and was enough people. end of series one was fab and was a great build up to that. series two, apart from the writers strike was pretty bad. series three started bad but slowly got better apart from the amount of characters now in it. also if hiro can just teleport back and sort all these things out surely he can go back to just after the end of part1 and we can sort out series two. just kidding.
So i was quite surprised and impressed that one of the writer/producers appears on seesmic asking us where we all watch heroes. Great i thought, connecting with the viewer base - this stuff should happen more.
Then a few days later this pops up on variety and gets on digg regarding the above mentioned jesse alexander. It got me wondering if the seesmic post was a bit of a call to arms to give defense to the fact that maybe jesse was looking to verify via other means that the stats they had been given were not a true reflection of the viewership figures.
Maybe in a bit of desperate attempt to keep his job? - cannot fault him for that. Truth is thou, this is how it works - it's all about the numbers. Will be a pity if heroes goes but changes do need to be made to the show if it is to have the life of what was originally expected. I personally think this is part of the problem with tv shows these days - massive budgets not organized properly and lack of connecting with the social audience that is online talking about your show - not enough collating is going on.
